Sheriffs Victor Hill And Kem Kimbrough Square Off One Day Before The Runoff Election
" ATLANTA (WAOK)-At times the exchange between the two sheriffs was downright comical, at other times confusing. Both former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill and current Sheriff Kem Kimbrough used the chance to talk to voters one more time before Tuesday’s runoff election. The “Final Say Before Election Day” took place at V-103 and WAOK studios. The debate was moderated by Frank Ski of V-103 and Mo Ivory of WAOK with journalists from newspaper and television forming a panel to ask questions that would hopefully clarify some of the questions voters have before they return to the polls to vote for either man.

The panel of Ernie Suggs of the AJC, David Stokes of the Atlanta Inquirer and Jennifer Leslie of WXIA 11 Alive asked about everything from clarification on the indictments both reportedly face (Hill facing 37 counts for corruption and Kimbrough for sexual harrassment) to what each would do to make the county safer for all citizens. Questions were also submitted by members of the in studio audience. “Jackie” asked both candidates if reelected what two things would they¬† do differently.¬† Victor Hill said he would “think before I act next time.” Some have criticized Hill for acting hastily when on his first day of office in 2004 he fired 27 deputies from the sheriff’s office. Kimbrough said he would “concentrate more on the community.” "
