Atlanta Council Wants Task Force On Campus Crime
" ATLANTA, GA (AP/WAOK) – Atlanta’s¬†city council is forming a task force to address crimes against students on college campuses in the city.

Officials say City Council President Ceasar Mitchell has called for the task force.

Mitchell said it’s imperative that a plan is formulated to keep students safe when they return to school.

The task force is expected to work with leaders of local universities to analyze crime data and develop a plan before the start of the fall semester.

The city council said in a statement that students at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University and the Atlanta University Center experienced a high number of robberies, car break-ins and assaults during the 2010-11 year. "
