" According to our very own Jean Ross, The Rainbow PUSH / Citizenship Education Fund’s 13th Annual Creating Opportunity Conference takes place this week with appearances by Reverend Jesse Jackson and other local and national leaders.   They will discuss the regional outlook for jobs and economic growth.

Building Bridges to Sustain Growth and Inclusion is the theme of the 13th Annual Creating Opportunity Conference in Atlanta, to be held in October 12-13, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency, 265 Peachtree Street, hosted by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Citizenship Education Fund, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. and national VP Janice L. Mathis, Esq.

“The conference agenda is packed with features that will inform and inspire you,” Rev. Jackson said, “including sessions on doing business with local governments and corporations, retirement planning, economic conditions and a leadership summit to plan civic engagement and public policy strategy for 2013 and beyond.”

Activities on Saturday, October 13th include a College Fair, Youth Summit, Sports Luncheon and Youth Talent Showcase.

Greg Street, long-time V-103 announcer is being honored as entrepreneur of the year for his non-profit corporation’s support of the written word on Friday, October 12 at the Keep Hope Alive Gala.

Today on the show we had the great opportunity to sit down and talk to Rev. Jessie Jackson about the conference and the state of education in the black community. Click the audio links to hear the conversation… "
