Atlanta Airport Leaders Look To The Future

" ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Internationalairport are looking ahead with long-range plans that include the potential for a sixth runway and two new concourses.

Other projects in the airport’s long-range plan include revamping roads to the main terminal and a new south gate complex.

Airport officials recently started a new effort to update the master plan to examine what projects should be planned for the future — its first such review in 12 years.

Delta Air Lines CEO Richard Anderson said recently that Hartsfield-Jacksoncould also expand by adding Concourses G and H, with Delta moving its hangars in that area to former Ford plant land the airport acquired last year.

The airport’s new international terminal is set to open next week. "
